On the recommendation of a friend, I bought a Nutra Ninja Pro blender this weekend and started substituting one meal a day with a green smoothie. I am loving this thing! It has so much power it turns veggies and fruit into a smoothie in seconds. Here are a few of my favorite combinations so far:
Oats (make it oat flour first) + pb2 + protein powder + almond milk
Oats + greek yogurt + spinach + almond milk
Oat + apple sauce + cinnamon + protein powder + almond milk
Spinach + carrot + peaches + pineapple + coconut water + protein powder
For my mid-afternoon I made (get ready) spinach + carrot + peach + pineapple + prunes + protein powder + almond milk. And it actually tastes good!
I go heavier on the veggies and use the fruits to sweeten things up a little. I've read that cottage cheese makes a really smooth smoothie (ha! smooth smoothie) and I am definitely looking forward to trying that out soon. I'm curious if it is as good as people say it is. I have a ton of veggies and fruits just waiting to be pulvarized.
Any other smoothie combinations that I need to try?
