So I have been seeing a nutritionist who I like, but is expensive. She started me off slow, which at first I didn't like because I wanted to hit the ground running. I had all this information but for reason kept failing. So I took baby steps. I just counted calories.

The first week was hard and I had some over 2000 days.

The second week I had two "high" calorie days. But it was getting easier.

The third week I had one "high" day and it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. But I was eating bad foods and staying under the calorie limit. I didn't want that to become a habit.

I saw my nutritionist for the 4th time this week and we made some changes. I was ready.

I was diagnosed with PCOS (Poly-cystic ovarian syndrome) over 3 years ago. I also have hypothyroidism, so my thryoid works slower. I am on medication for my thyroid. However, there is no pill for PCOS. It explains a lot of my weight gain (and I mean A LOT of weight gain) but I refuse to use it as an excuse. I still made the choices to eat the bad foods and not exercise. I made the choice to binge. I made the choice not to do anything about it. But now I am making the choice to change.

Now that my calories are under control, its time to change the diet. It is a lot harder for me to lose the weight because different foods effect me in very different ways. Carbs are....well. I'm not going to say carbs are the enemy because you NEED carbs to live. However, I can only have a certain amount throughout the day because it causes my insulin levels to SPIKE which causes the unabsorbed insulin to be laid down as fat all around my middle. Poop.

So now I am on a lower-carb plan with LOTS of protein and veggies. Yay! It's just the beginning but I'm excited to have the formula.

Do any of you have PCOS? How do you deal with it? What do you eat? Have you lost weight? Please let me know! I would love to discuss it with others. Bye for now!
