Hey, guys.
I know now we all struggle with different parts of this process. Here is mine. I was overweight my whole childhood and in college I found running and took off 40 pounds! I am a 7 time marathoner and training for races is really what I love to do.
My problem is that when I excercise that much, my metabolism gets so fired up that I am hungry all the time! My appetite really does exceed my calorie burn and over the past few years the weight is creeping back on! Yikes! When I cut calories too much, my running times and energy levels suffer. And I sometimes get dizzy. I really try to eat quality calories and spend my daily calorie budget well. Running is what I want to do but I know that this extra weight isn't good for my joints.
Since I am not training for a race right now, I'm cutting my mileage and trying to do more interval and cross training to see if that helps. But, I really want to figure this out for my long term health.
Do any of you struggle with that balance as well? How do you fuel for being an endurance athlete and at the same time not overdo it?
Thanks for your love and support, guys!
