My husband would completely disagree with me on this title.  And…as we’ve been married longer…I have to say…he’s probably right, BUT (and it’s a big one) sometimes we all just need a little change up.

When we were first married, I’d ask in my sweetest voice, “What would you like for dinner, dear.”  He would say, “It really doesn’t matter.”  This would leave me really confused because, in my family of origin, there were definite opinions about food – when we should have it AND what we should have.  So, one day, I just asked him why he didn’t just tell me what he wanted.  He informed me that if I let him choose, we would have the same thing every night – chicken, broccoli, & rice.  I made some ridiculously curdled face…I just know I did.  He told me that he would eat that every night, not because it was his favorite meal, but because it fueled his body…and he has a pretty sculpted one. 

Then, when I decided I wanted to get ripped and be a fitness model (not really, but, hey, you get the idea), he told me I had to run.  Say what? Run…um…no.  I don’t do: RUN.   (Well, at least...I didn't..I like it more now.)

I found out, though the hard way, that he was right.  Eating basic fuels and running WERE the keys to success, however, it doesn’t mean it is easy.  So here is where the variety part comes in…

you were wondering if I had forgotten the title of my post!

Just because chicken, rice, broccoli, and running are a sure fire way to meet my goals, doesn’t mean I can never have some variety.  I think, for me, I just have to find things that work for me and keep it interesting.

I’m always on the lookout for new ideas that I can work into my fitness life.  So with that, here are some fun apps and YouTube channels to help get you motivated when you just aren’t…that was me yesterday…when my air conditioner when out…in West Texas.   In case you didn’t know…it’s hot.  Like 83 in my house ALL. NIGHT. LONG.  One can easily forget how wonderful air conditioning is.  I am so thankful for it.  And I’m thankful for Mr. Eddie coming to fix it.
