Have you ever seen somebody running with a stroller? I ran, or should really say jogged, with my first child in a stroller. What surprised me most when running with the stroller was how much more difficult it was to run while pushing a stroller.
Somebody mentioned to me it would be much more difficult to run with the stroller. I thought, it can't be that hard, since I'm pushing the stroller. No big deal, right? Uh, no. It is difficult and will slow you down. Why? Because you can't swing both of your arms. Even if you try switching arms and pushing the stroller and swinging the other arm, it is still difficult.
When I see somebody running with a baby stroller, I am impressed since I know how difficult it can be. I did a half marathon where there was a guy pushing a double stroller the whole half marathon. And he was running fast. I was impressed. (Don't tell my husband. I don't think he would like hearing about how my hero is that guy.)
When I was pregnant with my second child, I thought about getting a double stroller to go jogging. However, my daughter would no longer want to sit in a stroller. She would want to run with mommy instead. Might be a good thing. I don't know if I could handle running with a double stroller.
