So, I have been trying to maintain this routine where I walk on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Do circuit training on Tuesday and Thursday. And Saturdays I go to the gym walk and do circuit training with a friend.
Everything was going great until somebody broke one of the circuit machines in the 30 minute workout room (I know who it was because she was like doing 50 reps at like 250 lbs on crunches, she should have been out in the main room because EVERYBODY knows the 30 minute room is for noobs like me. Rant over.) So, anyway, I now had to figure out which machines I could use instead on the main floor, And since I've basically been doing the same thing for about 6 weeks now I thought now was a good time to try something new.
Thus began my first foray into upper and lower body training. More accurately, since I started today, lower body training. I discovered that being on the floor makes me more competitive. Even though there were only 8 other people in the whole building when I was there I was amping up the weight. Not sure if I was truly being competitive or just testing my limits. Yeah, I felt a little sore afterwards, but no big deal.
It's still not a big deal, but now it's inconvenient. It's hard to look cute in your heels when you're moving stiffly. So lesson learned, there is NO ONE at the gym that I need to impress. I just have to keep eating (right), moving my body and breathing (to ensure I can do 1 and 2). Yes, I did just steal that from Susan Powter and I'm not ashamed.
Anyway, getting rested and walking this stiffness off tomorrow.
