Hello Hello!  I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful day, but you're probably thinking to yourself...ugh, do I really have to do my cardio???

Well...

Here's my way of getting going on my cuts, and making sure I stick to it no matter what!

Make sure you start small, if you haven't done cardio at all or not much for the past while, don't jump right into an hour a day on the treadmill or you'll never stick to it!  My rule of thumb is 2 minutes a week.  What I mean by that is i'll start off my cardio sessions right after my weight training, and for a 10 minute session.  I'll mix it up, stairmaster being my favourite, but treadmill one day, elliptical next, change it up! It makes it more fun :) Then the following week i'll bump it up to 12 minutes a day, then 14 mins the next week and so on until i'm at about half an hour.  This way you barely notice the change and it makes it MUCH easier to stick to your plan and continually push your body each week, which intern will continually burn more fat!

Now, if you feel the need to burn more than a half hour after your workouts can do, this is when the morning cardio come into play.  Now we're going to split it up initially to make it easy to get used to.  So...if you're doing say 20 mins on the stairmaster after your workout every day and decide you want to throw in some morning cardio, start small and work your way up!  Again this will make it an easy adjustment and keep your body burning fat!  Hop on the treadmill for 10 mins first thing in the morning, and then only do 15 mins on the stairmaster after your workout.  The following week, bump your post workout back to 20 mins and keep your morning cardio at 10 mins.  THEN start pushing the time in the morning, 10 mins, 12 mins, 14 mins, week by week but keep your post workout the same.

You can do a longer cardio session (45mins to an hour) away from your workouts and keep burning fat.  If you push yourself past 30 mins after a workout, your body will start to deplete because its craving nutrients to repair your muscles from the workout!  So dont spend too much time on there after you train because you need FOOD!!

Fitness isn't about flipping your life upside down, its about making small weekly changes to transform it into a lifestyle that works for you! :)
