I am in the fourth week of my current workout routine, so was thinking of how to change it up to keep my muscles guessing.  For the past three and a half weeks my workout routine has been to do 10 minutes on the ARC Trainer as a warmup, then either an upper body or lower body circuit (I alternate days) and do 12 minute abs on Saturdays or Sundays (I have been lifting in 1 set of 20 reps), then do 25 minutes on the treadmill.  I changed my treadmill workout about a 1 1/2 weeks ago to start intervals of running mixed with walking, but I need about 2 minutes of recovery time between 30 second bursts, otherwise my heart rate gets too high.

For the next four weeks, I am going to stick to the ARC Trainer for 10 minutes, then do half the weight circuit (switching to heavier weights and 6 reps for 1 set, but change Abs to 25 reps), get back on the ARC Trainer, then the other half of the weight circuit, then 15 minutes on the treadmill doing intervals for 10 minutes and 5 minutes of cool down.   This should increase my calories burned, and especially on leg days keep muscles loose (alright maybe Jello).  I will keep ab days the same as I am currently doing, but increase the reps. I am going to make the switch next Monday.

My workout normally takes about 50 minutes.  But on some days, normally the day before weigh in, I spend 10 minutes in the vibrashape machine.  Not sure it does anything but maybe it helps tighten all the smaller stabilizer muscles. I wish it was just a plate that you could use with light weights/resistance bands.

I generally rest 1 or 2 days a week,  normally one day it is just imposible to get a workout in, and the other day is normally Sunday.
