So yesterday I mentioned how I was gonna do a "Taste of" event. I originally thought you paid one price and got a bunch of samples. Sadly, though, the website was not clear. You paid admission and THEN paid for tickets to get food. Probably better in the long run, although had I known I might have just skipped the event altogether. The food vendors were a little underwhelming. Still, I wanted to get some value out of my admission, so I got a couple of items. I promise I would track and do a wrap-up, so here's what I ate:
- PDQ Chicken Tenders - 1 1/2 tenders (160 calories)
- Korean Beef Short Rib Taco - 1/2 (140 calories) + taco shell (50 calories)
And THAT's it. I couldn't find an exact count for the taco shells since they were from a vendor that wasn't in MFP, so I used Yard House as a guide. They serve them in soft taco shells, so I added a taco shell on top of the calorie count just to be safe.
I did eat a little breakfast beforehand so I wasn't starved, which did help. I also drank a lot of water. Since they didn't have a water fountain, I broke down and paid $2 for a bottle of water. It was SO hot out, I really needed it.
I did resist pastries and sweets, but since you had to pay money to get them, it wasn't quite as much of a temptation challenge as I thought. Still, I guess it could have been worse.
Now I'm going to spending a few days out of my house in my fiancee's area. Going to try really hard to keep up the good eating, although it can be a little tricky since I won't have the comfort of having a fridge full of food. Trying to plan ahead as best I can.
