This challenge came at the perfect time.  I was getting ready to start a new program on Monday.  Many years ago I trained hard, ate right and was in the best shape of my life.  Recently my coworkers and I were talking and they asked me, so what happened?  They didn't say it in a negative way, but were genuinely curious as to how I became 60+lbs overweight.

It started with the death of my father who was my hero.  He passed away two weeks after he was diagnosed with an infection in his heart.  My boss and mentor had passed away a few months prior and the year 2001 continued downhill from there.  I took some time off to grieve which was probably my biggest mistake.  I always thought I could get back into shape easily because I knew what I was doing and had sone it before.  It wasn't as easy as I had anticipated and the more I gained weight, the less motivated I became.

Here I am 13 years later at 190lbs and although my life is full and happy, I absolutely hate looking in the mirror.  I don't even recognize that person any more.  I am starting on a new journey to a healthier life.

I am so looking forward to starting on Monday and seeing mine and everyone else's progress.  Heidi and Chris are awesome and I am excited to be part of their team.

My goals are to be 4% down by the end of the month.  My husband and I are attending an NPC competition in Denver in November so my goal is to be 40lbs down by then and 60lbs down by my 45th birthday in April.

I have my plan ready to go, a wall calendar up to keep track and the full support of my husband.  So....here we go....
