"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone"
I've always honored this quote because it speaks so loudly to me, and it couldn't be more true. Most people live out their lives in their comfort zones. Afraid to change, afraid to step out, afraid of the unknown. They stay where they feel safe and where they know all the rules of the game. Then there is the rest, who take those steps, who embrace change, and who leap into the unknown, for they know true human potential knows no bounds.
This quote can be applied to so many aspects of your life. In order to reach your full potential, you need to go out in the world, experience what's out there, try new things, learn, grow, and develop. We only have one life and it's up to us to live it to its fullest. It's your choice if you want to spend your days on the couch watching tv, or step out of your comfort zone and experience life. There is a huge difference between being alive and living.
I was born and raised on the East Coast. Long Island, NY to be exact. I absolutely love the East Coast and my island. However, I always had the urge to move to California. I felt like I would always regret it if I never lived on the West Coast. I told myself that nothing in life is permenant, and if I absolutely hated California after a year or two, I could always move back. So fast forward to now and I am currently living in Southern California with my boyfriend of 5 years. So far I am loving it and I'm so glad I took this leap of faith.
I've only been here 3 weeks, but I've already stepped out of my comfort zone more times then I can count. And I've never felt so alive. Today I am headed to my second hot yoga class. I've never ever done hot yoga in my life before, but I took the initiative to find a studio and attend a class by myself. I absolutely loved it and I cannot wait till today's class.
So for anybody reading this blog, my advice to you is to take a chance and step out of your comfort zone. Move somewhere you've always wanted to, sign up for a fitness class you've never tried, go out and buy that outfit you've been too afraid to flaunt, ask out the cute guy you've had your eye on. I'd rather live my life with no regrets then to live a life with a bunch of "what if's."
