Confession, I love Fridays!
Friday is the door to the weekend and getting out of my high rise downtown Los Angeles office, seeing my family in daylight, catching up on household stuff and an opportunity to get some much neglected exercise!
I've also now promised myself I will only weigh on Saturday morning, so Friday is the build up of anticipation and excitement to see the scale number change and to try on "old" clothes to see the non scale changes.
Friday is my gateway to the part of my life that goes into hibernation during the work week! I have 3 hours of commuting and then 8+ hours at the office, so the work routine consumes me Mon-Fri.
It also is the day I get to give back. My office is down the street from the Midnight Misson which serves 3 free meals a day to anyone who walks through the doors during the serving hours. My position is such that as long as my work is done, there are no set hours, thus I am afforded the opportunity to leave midday to prep and serve lunch to the needy. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve and selfishly it really makes me feel good.
Dear Friday, As the Uncle Kracker songs says, you make me:
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile!
