You have to be eagle eyed when it comes to shopping at the grocery store.
I watched this documentary which said you should only purchase food from the edges of the grocery store (where the fresh produce is kept ) and avoid the whole interior of the store where preservatives are used or where the food is not really food anymore.
I have been doing so well with my rebalancing that I decided to have some "natural" vegetable chips with my broccoli soup yesterday. They tasted wonderful but this morning when I jumped on the scale, my weight had gone up three pounds! One handful of chips and three pounds of retained water. Amazing!
That is what happense when I introduce preservatives/salt into my diet.
Luckily, I know this will go away in two days (for me) and that I need to put this food on my do not eat because my body is not happy with it list. Anything which makes me retain water like that is not healthy for my body.
If you find yourself retaining water, experts suggest you:
1. Drink more water to help your body flush out the water retention.
2. Eat foods with potassium such as Avocados or Tomatoes
3. Drink Hibiscus or Fennel Tea.
4. Eat dark leafy vegetables for Magnesium which helps reduce swelling/water retention.
5. Avoid processed foods.
Good luck today! I'm going to be downing lots of water & tea and focusing on how healthy I feel.
The scale is important for this competition but my overall happiness is important all year round and, I'm very happy this Sunday morning eating the metabolic balance way.
