I'm almost done letting go of the preservatives from Saturday which is a relief but I now need to be more aware of what I put on my plate. I also need to find ways to stay focused which is why I started looking into interruptions.

Today I started doing some research into distractions because I found myself taking forever to get through a task this morning and that really bothered me.

After a little bit of research, I found that it takes us 25 minutes to get back to the original task we were doing before the interruption.  Research also tells us that it is harder to get back to some tasks than others.

I have to make sure when I'm in the kitchen that I don't get distracted which can be a challenge.  Making recipes doesn't take long but if you wander away for fifteen minutes and it turns to 30, your dish may be ruined something I tend to do more than I like and something my daughter doesn't appreciate.

This is what I have to remind myself at home. When I start cooking, I turn off my phone and the computer and put on some music.  I do this to stay at the present moment and not get sucked into answering an email or reading more resarch about distraction!

I'm thinking about getting a slow cooker.  Does anyone use a slow cooker?
