268 days until THE big day and I know a two things for sure:
- I want to FEEL good mentally and physically on my wedding day
- I don't want to stress out about food the week of my wedding
And that means, it is time to get to work. I'm setting a goal to lose 40 pounds for the big day - that is a happy weight for me, one I know I feel good at and don't have to kill myself to keep. The last few months, I have let so many things get in the way, but now I am ready to get after it!
I've done all sorts of plans over the years, but I want something I know I can stick with for more than a month or two. So, while I might make different plans within my schedule, these will be my four truths to hold onto/guidelines to follow:
Four Truths of My Plan
I am commiting to these things for 2016
- Move! I am going to more every day, even if it is just a walk at lunch. I am commiting to at least five hours of get after it workouts every week. At home or on the road, I know how to make this happen.
- Enjoy life! Make smart decisions so that I don't miss out on the birthday cakes and showers, that means making my weekdays really count and not going crazy on the weekends.
- Never give up! When an unplanned cheat happens, I often just throw up my hands and say, "to hell with it" and eat whatever I can the rest of the day. Time to change that behavior and get back to my focs.
- Take care of me! I need to get sleep and not be stressed out. I am a great example of what stress can do your body if you let it and I have done the work and made the decisions to knock out most of the sources of stress and anxiety in my life. I need to keep focusing on that and a little namaste here and there as well. That also means, sometimes other things will take a back seat to my fitness and that's ok, time to let go of a few things.
So hear is to feeling great on my wedding day and enjoying every moment of my gorgeous white (ivory) dress!
