Congratulations!!  You have taken the first big step!! 

I remember joining my first DietBet and immediately having a feeling of apprehension.  I thought, “can I really do this or am I just going to lose my money?”  I knew I was ready to start eating healthy again and losing the weight I had gained…. But, I had this self doubt that sat in the back of my mind.  Even with the self doubt I began to plan to eat better and go to the gym.  So, when I submitted my starting weight I felt better because I knew I had a plan in place.  I submitted my starting weight on the start date of the DietBet which happened to be on a Sunday.  After submitting my starting weight DietBet reminded me to complete regular unofficial weigh-ins… which I didn’t give much thought to as I was more interested in taking before pictures.  With my plan in place, I began eating healthy and going to the gym.  After about one and a half weeks I thought that I could not tell any difference in my clothes.  So, the self doubt crept back into my mind…. I thought, “this isn’t working!”  I felt frustrated and opened the DietBet app.  I suddenly remembered that I had not stepped on the scale since submitting my starting weight.  I immediately hopped on my scale and was surprised that I had lost around two pounds.  This was the motivation I needed to keep me on track!!  So, here are my tips to help you motivate yourself and keep yourself on track: have a plan for every week of the DietBet (adjust accordingly or as life dictates), weigh-in unofficially at least once a week, take before pictures for comparison.  One final note… your before pictures are very important.  I say this because at one point although the scale was moving down for me but, I did not feel that my body was changing.  I took pictures and compared them to my starting weight pictures.  Again I was shocked and motivated to continue!!
