I started dietbet and going to the gym January 1st 2017. I am down 8 pounds. I've done Weight Watchers in the past which I liked, but I am just going with counting calories this time. I like counting calories because it lets me know where I'm at everyday with each decision that I make. When I'm not counting calories, or points for Weight Watchers, I usually feel down and like I'm failing if I'm not losing weight. All the times that I splurged and had soda or dessert or pasta stand out in my mind and I'm more likely to give up because it feels too hard. But when I count calories I tend to stay close to my target and if I have an off-day I know that I can get right back on track. Also I can fit treats into my calorie limit, and that way I don't have to feel guilty about them at all.
The kickstarter's a little too fast for me, I am all about the Transformer bets, slow and steady! My first personal long-term goal is to get down to 170 which will be a 72 pound loss. My current bets will have me down to 213 July 1st 2017. If I continue with 10% weight loss every six months it should take me about a year-and-a-half to reach my first goal. I really love dietbet, the support I found here is making this feel fun. Normally looking at a year-and-a-half of calorie counting would be a struggle that I don't think I would stay with, but getting to see my recorded progress as well as all the great support really makes it fun and easier to stay with. Thank you all so much for sharing your journey and your support!
