SQUIRREL! This morning my mind keeps darting every which way like the dog in Disney’s UP when he sees a squirrel.
I am filled with anticipation of the new Dietbet kicking off Wednesday, actually planning out my meal/fitness plans-now can I do what I’ve planned, and the Independence Day holiday.
Diebet kickoff-I don’t know if anyone else does this, but I’m all up in my head about starting to eat good NOW vs. live wild until I weigh-in in the afternoon (when I’m heaviest) and then crack down. I’ve lost so much that now even a pound seems impossible. If I’m 4 pounds heavier in the afternoon, I instantly lose those 4 pounds by an early morning weight in on weight out day. Who am I kidding!!
In my mind I know it’s only me I hurt by not starting right this minute. Now I must keep that mind set when at Disneyland tonight and not eat all those tempting goodies! My favorite go-to is the caramel apple as I convince myself it is fruit and the lesser of the evils.
Planning-I’m an “achiever” I feel frustrated when not checking off boxes or if I’m not working toward getting something done. So having a fitness and eating plan makes this woman very, very happy. Creating my plans was a bit of work. For my fitness plan I worked backwards from my next HUGE race date, my 1st attempt at a ½ marathon (Infinity and Beyond Half at Disneyland Sept 3) and calculated my training using Zenlab’s 13.1 training app. With training all mapped out I attacked my food plan using my weight watcher’s points and vegetarian/almost vegan- chicken once a week and egg whites, food restrictions so I can eat to be my best self! It all looks good on paper and I have healthy fill-up vegie based cabbage soups all jarred up for easy grab and eat situations.

Independence Day-Tuesday is the worst day for a holiday to fall on. We get up early and go to work Monday, then have Tuesday off but can’t really stay up late or go wild because the alarm clock will go off a 4 am Wednesday morning for that morning run before work. So what to do? Disneyland is doing their firework extravaganza Monday and Tuesday…SCORE I can go Monday, stay up late and not have to wake at 4 Tuesday.
So perfect!
But now I need to have someone—Hey Hubby—pack what I had planned for dinner as a picnic to have at D-Land…and here I go, back to thinking about food again!
I’m so ready to be at my goal weight and just maintain. 4% will be hard this time around, but I will train and nourish properly and the scale will land where it may! See what I did? No Diet and Exercise! I’m eating and being active to live, not to restrict myself----every again. I’m making these choices!
