I've been overweight since elementary school.. basically as long as I can remember. When I was in high school, I lost a bunch of weight, but it was super unhealthy and unsustainable. That was the beginning of the yo-yo dieting. When I moved to San Diego, I finally started getting a handle on it when I had a personal trainer or spending $$$ on Pure Barre and Corepower Yoga. I spent thousands of dollars and was down to 135, but even at my lowest weight, I didn't see myself as thin. I joined an adult kickball league and started drinking craft beer ( so good, but so bad for my stomach!) and going to happy hours and the weight started creeping up. I was in decent shape when my boyfriend and I started dating, but I would match him in portions and started gaining weight. I know he loves me the way I am. He took my weigh in photo for me and even discovered that I weigh more than him (he can have a salad for dinner and end up losing weight the next day!) and he still loves me. I want to get my weight under control and feel confident in my own skin, so I am doing this for me. I see this as a chance to bet on me. I originally only signed up for the 4 week Fitness Mag kickstarter (I'm a subscriber and saw it as an ad in the magazine), but after talking with my boyfriend (I didn't want to force him into "diet mode" for six months without his input) I signed up for the Transformer. My birthday (March 5th) is right before the final weigh in and I am doing this as a gift to myself. I've said the words and started the work, but I need to put my money and my wager on me. If I make a little extra, then great. This is a chance to force me to be better about my diet (I love the 80/20 method) and think more for the long term.

Good luck everyone!
