Woke up sore and stiff this morning after my triple workout day. Go figure! I took it easy most of the day and did my treadmill hill workout at 9 p.m. PST to burn 500+ calories. The old Diane would have stayed on the couch with a dog in the lap, some snacks on the table, a wine glass, and about 3-4 hours of T.V. any given night. I'm taking a moment tonight to reflect on my progress since spring.
New Diane gets her noticeably smaller butt out the door to exercise after dinner before it tries to plant itself on the couch.
New Diane does not get a food coma for starving herself all day and then eating a huge meal late at night.
New Diane is wearing out athletic shoes from exercise, not from dragging them under the office chair.
New Diane runs up and down the stairs all day to keep the household running instead of calling the kids down to fetch things. (Yes, I was that lazy)
New Diane is properly hydrated and no longer addicted to sugar and caffeine to have energy.
New Diane is looking forward to clothes shopping for the first time in 15 years. Down 2 sizes in shirts and pants. Woo Hoo!
Progress sometimes comes slow, but remember we are all capable of making little changes that will later add up to big things. I'm half way to my goal and even though it is taking longer than expected, I'm proud of the improvements I have made to my lifestyle and health. Take a moment to pat yourselves on the back.
