The weather was beautiful this morning - too beautiful to not take a bike ride with my husband. I planned the route out ahead of time, and it included a 3 mile climb with a 700 foot elevation gain. Not too bad on a regular bike, but I'm on my recumbent bike now. Last night I figured no problem, but the anxiety set in this morning. Would I be able to do this?? I had only done the last half of this climb, but never the whole climb.
Thanks to my husband, I did not let the anxiety set in when it came time to make the turn for the climb. Slow and steady and a ridiculous amount of mental coaching on my part, and I made it to the top. A 19 mile bike ride in 2 1/2 hours today. Needless to say, I was exhausted by the end. I am, though, still beaming and proud from the small achievement I made today!!
