A year ago, I did a "real life" boot camp challenge and lost 15 lbs. Unfortunately, I never conquered my emotional eating, even during the challenge. I would just eat fewer calories throughout the day so that I could continue to binge at night but still lose weight. Needless to say, I gained it all back, plus some.
I am a runner, but my emotional eating sabotages any good that I do on the road, and my running has suffered with the extra weight I've put on. However, I've been biking to work more the past couple of weeks, and running more consistently. I've managed to lose 2 lbs so far, but more importantly I'm starting to see that I am capable of controlling my emotional eating by a) not buying the foods I tend to overeat (I'm talking to you, Nutella) and b) by not ever, ever, ever eating dinner in front of the TV when my husband isn't home. I'm still working on both a and b, but I'm hopeful that it's improving. I'm trying to take it one day at a time, and make this a sustainable change.
I listen to Jillian's podcasts when I run, and I find her so motivating. I'm looking forward to this!
My ultimate goal is to lose 50 lbs by the end of February, when I'm taking an epic vacation to Belize. Obviously I want to look awesome, but more importantly, I want to make sure that I'm capable of hiking through caves all day and going sea kayaking!
