So today is the first day of DietBet for me. I always fell pretty good on day one of any challenge as your body is not complaining yet. It's day 4 that usually really get me!
But good day so far today. I had low fat natural yoghurt with nut/seed granola for breakfast and then fruit for mid morning snack. its coming up for lunch and I have tuna with salad, it looks pretty good but I don't know if I will be able to take 28 days of it. But we are going day at a time! Already had 1 1/2 litres of water today so am really happy about that. dinner is going to be stir-fry veg with pork. I'm trying to stay low on carbs for the first 10 days or so. Due to the epilepsey sometimes my body doesn't like me taking the carbs away so we will see how I get on.
So since everyone is going to be reading this I am going to try and make it as personal and honest as I can and tell you something you might want to hear. So today I wanted to mention some of the things that being fat makes more difficult that you might not have thought of! I never knew until it happened to me:
- I can't paint my toe nails anymore.
- it is not true that all shoes still fit!
- waxing/ shaving on all levels is more difficult
- I can't buy trousers that fit
- I am not huge - UK 16/18 (US 12/14) and there are regular high street shops that I cannot buy anything in!
- I have been restricted from horse riding
- you get nervous getting on theme park rides
- airplane seatbelts are tight and you are offered extensions :/
There are more but can leave those for another time. Does anyone else feel the pain or the unexpected restrictions?
