Who doesnt enjoy care packages?
Living overseas, I get giddy when I get packages from back home (US &PR). Well my Dear petite mom (recently retired) started taking baking classes.- Mind you she is a diabetic, depite having a normal BMI. So what does she send her (forever trying to get fit/healthy) daugther?...COOKIES, gingerbread cookies- (She tells me "low glycemic cookies") Its not even Christmas yet! :-).
When do I get them?-- The same day I post on this dietbet that I broke the plateau !!!!- lovely way for a temptation.. Not only do I get these cookies, but also a DVD of a VHS 1985 recording of my chubby, fat, insecure teenage (13 y/o) self celebrating my sister's birthday..
Don't get me wrong, I love my mom very much, but what was she thinking??-- She even sent me the cookies in my sister's empty Shakeology box ??(REALLY) LOL
I did have 2 gingerbread men cookies that were already broken and balanced it with 1 cup of almond milk. - That was our (my husband &I) excuse "Well just keep the broken ones", he said . Thankfully only but a few broke.
Interestingly, my stomach didnt tolerate them very well..felt supper bloated and full..-reminder to self for the next time.
The good news is that TODAY I get to take all those cookies to my skinny (eat everything) Japanese friends!!
The lesson of this story is that I love my mom and the love my mom had in making those cookies I will pay it forward giving it to my japanese friends and I will enjoy the DVD of my old fat self and tell her you are WORTHY and you are doing AWESOME!!!
GOD BLESS
