So it's a little into week 2 now, so high time I made my first blog entry!
Exercise: I went to the gym 4 times last week, and also did a yoga class. I've been doing a routine at the gym that incorporates cardio with strength training, working to build my upper body strength as well as my leg strength and endurance. So there's been a lot of weighted squats, barbells, ladder workouts on the treadmill, even some rowing and elliptical work! The yoga class was absolutely fantastic and so relaxing, but something I can't make for the next few weeks which is disappointing. I'll need to start incorporating my home practice again!
Diet: This is where I've been falling down. Although I've not been eating a lot of rubbish, my meals have been in a really odd way due to working late shifts. I have to eat dinner early so I don't get hungry during my shift, and the food they provide me at work is not the best, let's put it that way. I also went to a party at a friend's, where I overindulged a little in the prosecco haha! Oh dear. So this is really the area that I'm trying to fix.
I've been feeling discouraged because I have only lost 1 pound so far, and I have 4 more to lose before the 7th which is creeping ever closer. Part of me thinks I won't be able to succeed! But I'm going to keep trying. I'm looking into more snacking during the day (healthy of course!) so that I know I'm getting enough calories, and trying to incorporate active tasks throughout my day even when I'm not at the gym! I'm thinking bursts of star jumps, squats, running up and down the stairs, that kinda thing!
