Hello Fellow Dieters!

I hope you are well.  Today I slept in, with my motivational audiotapes playing to my subconscious.  I also listen to audiotapes as I fall asleep.  It's a great way to program the mind.

I've been successful about avoiding obvious sugars - no cookies or candy.  Yesterday I received a box of chocolate from a vendor for the holidays and I handed it directly to my assistant.  She was happy so it was a win-win.  : )  There is so much temptation and I expect to have slip ups, but with each "pass" my willpower gets stronger.

I've been drinking lots of water and eating less.  A great trick is to switch to smaller plates.  I use my salad plates.  I'm not on a flawless diet. bit I'm eating more fruits and veggies, avoiding white bread and sweets.  This morning I cooked half an organic red onion with frozen organic spinach in olive oil, then scrambled in 2 eggs also, organic.  I try to use organic as much as possible.  It gets expensive, but since I'm not eating much, it goes far.  Buying frozen is cheaper and is actually better for you.  The vegetables are frozen at their peak freshness and are sometimes more nutritious than fresh, which lose nutrients as the sit in your refrigerator.  The flawed part of this breakfast happened when I was taking out the spinach and noticed I still had some frozen organic onion rings.  So - I put the remaining 4 in the toaster oven, instead of the whole wheat english muffin I was going to have. . . I also used organic ketchup, which has added sugar.  I also had a clementine.  All in all, I don't think it was a disaster. I didn't eat all of my eggs.

The other challenge I have is the Chex Mix my sister made me when I visited over Thanksgiving.  There's nothing organic about it.  : ) I'm not going to throw it out, but I have to try harder to only have a little bit at a time.  I have to remind myself that we only need two handfuls of food to fill our stomach.

As far as exercise goes. . . I do not belong to a gym right now, so I depend on exercising a home.  I also am lucky to have a 25 minute walk to and from work so on weekdays, I can have that exercise as part of my routine.  I also have DVDs and a couple of VHS tapes that I used to use all the time when I was younger.

Anyway!  We are what we think about most of the time.  Try not to trash talk yourself.  I have been known to call myself fat and frumpy, but I would never call any of my friends those things.  It shouldn't be okay to treat ourselves worse than we treat our friends.  Think positive.  Love that you are committing to this diet.  Love the person you will be seeing in the mirror on June 1st.

Good Luck!!!

Tina
