Happy Solstice, everyone! Here’s to brighter days ahead.
Quick update. I found something that motivates me more to NOT eat processed foods with loads of sugar, like candies and such. Of course weight loss is a huge motivator, money is another huge one, but the one that really seems to hit me the most is: CLEAR SKIN.
When I don’t eat cookies, breads, etc, I find myself with heavenly clear, soft, skin. Now, I’ve researched the link between diet & skin, and many dermatologists say that there is no correlation. I completely disagree, at least in my case. And a lot of other people’s anecdotal evidence exists to prove this. My brother always used to break out, and when he started eating right, exercising, and drinking water, his skin cleared up right away.
Anyway, last week I had super clear skin, ate a cannoli as a “treat” (I went to York, Maine last week with my friend) and 4 days later, my face was Breakout City. Of course, correlation doesn’t always mean causation, but in my case I think it was. Loads of sugar and dairy= one huge headache from a sugar rush, and breakout 4 days later. No thanks!
I’m going to abstain from sweets for a long time, and it is actually easier for me to think “I’m not going to eat that, because I’m going to have clear skin,” than thinking “I’m going to lose weight” or “I’m not going to lose the dietbet.” Clear skin is a HUGE motivator for me. I DESPISE wearing makeup on my day to day life (although it is super fun to wear for special occasions!). Having naturally clear skin makes me feel more confident than wearing makeup to hide breakouts.
Also, I started at 151.1 pounds and I’m down to 145.5. So, I'm down 5.6 pounds (I'm sure some of that is water weight, or worse, muscle mass.) But, that’s actually a pretty huge loss in almost 3 weeks. I’m excited to finally look cut and be able to see my muscles. :D
Hope everyone is having a good day! :)
