Hi! 

I have had good results following a Low Carb Diet. One of the main benefits for me is that my Diabetes is in control due to this kind of diet.  As you know, the Carbs. that you do not burn will become glucose and the diabetics have to watch that. 

I want to share with you my preferred options for fruits, milk and breads.

In terms of fruits, I prefer those that are lower in sugars such as the strawberries and the green apples. Pears are a good option too.  I avoid high sugar options such as bananas, mangos or pineapple.

I use the following options to regular milk:

  1. Low Calorie coffee creamers (powder)
  2. Half & Half Milk
  3. Almond Milk (unsweetened)
  4. Heavy Cream (good option for recipes like the Cheese and Broccoli Cream)

 

I love breads but when you read the Nutrition Facts label you can see that almost all of them have over 10 grams of Carbs.  I use the following options to bread to reduce the number of Carbs. in my diet:

  1. Joseph's - Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Mini Pita Bread (only 4 Net Carbs. per Pita)
  2. La Banderita - Soft Taco Low Carb tortilla (only 5 Net Carbs.)
