Ugh! Last night I made dinner and it needed some flavor. Couldnt figure out what was missing, so I added a small amount of a prepacked stroganoff mix to the pot. Boy was it good, but man was it salty. I have reallt cut back on my sodium intake and so today not only does the scale show it but I am so bloated and puffy. I only lost 2 oz. and my wedding ring is tight, my toes are even swollen.
It's hard to believe I used to make dinner with a packet at least once a week. It's hard believe there is so much sodium in these little packets. I now use Mrs. Dash products that have zero sodium. There are so many flavors to choose from... Southwestern Chipotle, Fiesta Lime, Table Blend, Tomato Basil, Garlic & Herb, Onion & Herb and of course the original. I'm sure there are more out there, these are the ones I always have on hand. I have two drawers and a cupboard just for my spices. I am always buying spices when I go to the store. I love to mix and match and experiment with flavors. I also love that I can control the amount of sodium I put in my meals. Of course I do have a few shakers of seasonings with added salt but when I do use them I only use a small amount. If you have any low sodium suggestions please let us know.
Well it's water check time and my bottle is low. time to fill up.
