Writing goals down is so important!
And I just plain suck at it. So - I'll do it here - where I may be more likely to see it. And because if I write it down on paper, it may end up forgotten and shoved in a pile of books in the corner. Or eaten by my toddler. She likes to eat everything...grapefruit, coffee beans...paper. Ah well.
MY GOAL WEIGHT :: 160 pounds :: I'm currently about 191, & I cannot remember the last time I was under 180. It was probably high school, and I am thrilled to be pressing towards this goal! I am tall, & my muscles tend to bulk up big time when I'm doing intensive strength building exercises. So, my end goal is somewhat flexible because I really don't know what I'll look like as I continue dropping. My body has changed dramatically since high school (chest size, the way I carry my weight, etc). It's possible that I will get down to 170 or so and decide that going further would be unhealthy. OR, I may get to 160 & see that I can actually keep cutting weight.
CLOTHING GOALS :: I don't have a size in mind. I want to enjoy clothes shopping without dreading the moment of truth when I try to pull that dress zipper all the way up. I want to be comfortable in skinny jeans. I want a backside that fills out those skinny jeans like a dream!! I don't want to worry about muffin top, no matter what I'm wearing (can I get an amen?!?! haha). I want to have as little as possible of that pesky fat layer under my bra strap on my back. I want to fit into the black pencil skirt that's hanging in my closet that someone gave me years ago, but I've NEVER been able to wear. I have held onto it as motivation. I'm coming for you!!!
FITNESS GOALS :: This is much harder to nail down for me. I want to have a lean, muscular body. I want my legs & arms to be lean & firm. I want to be able to do complete nose-to-the-ground normal push-ups!!! I want to keep working out at least 3 times a week once I'm done with this round of BBM. Whether I take up kickboxing, jogging, or some sort of combo - I want to make sure exercise continues to be a part of my life, no matter what else is going on. My husband is in incredible shape & works crazy hard to be that way. I'd be thrilled to go to the gym with him and not feel like an amateur! :) I also want to get more flexible. I've come a long way just in the last few months, but I know I can go so much further, and I know that increased flexibility decreases injury risks in any physical endeavors.
Ultimately, I want to feel great in my skin. I'm not sure I've ever really felt that way. I'm working hard and already feel so much better just by putting forth consistent effort. I can't wait!!!
