Today didn't start ideally as I got up early to run before my 9am lecture but it was too dark to go out, and I didn't have time to wait for the light and then make it to uni on time. So I had to push my first run of the week back till tomorrow and decided to walk instead of getting the bus to get some exercise.
I knew I was going to have a large and unpredictable lunch so I tried to save plenty of calories for it. A very measly bowl of cereal at 7:30 and a coffee at 11 got me through though, interestingly. My stomach rumbled at 10 (usually my banana break), but it quickly passed. And boy am I glad I waited. I had a chicken and bacon open sandwich and it was utterly divine. It was heaven. It was the best food I've eaten out in a long time. What's more, I managed to balance the books calorie-wise (only just, none saved for the weekend) and I felt full all afternoon, and evening after a light tea of lamb skewers (really hitting the protein today) with chickpeas and spinach.
One of the reasons I plan to update my progress as regularly as possible is so I can refer back to the good days and remember how positive and upbeat I can feel on small portions of healthy foods. Today is one of these days.
The other foody thing of note that happened was I made my lunches tonight for the rest of the week, which is a salad of pasta, chicken, avocado, mango, peppers and tomatoes with a chilli/lime/coriander dressing. So far so normal. The unusual thing, however, was I didn't 'sample' as I went. Normally I would have a nibble on this and that, especially the pasta and chicken, but today I didn't. Well OK, I had a single pasta twirl, but only to make sure it was cooked! I can't wait to eat that lunch tomorrow.
I've roughly planned my week on myfitnesspal and hopefully I should have about 1600 calories for a potential meal out and GIN. Can't wait ;)
