I have been with the man I will marry for a little over 4 years and been living together for a little more than 2. He proposed to me at Wallowa Lake in Oregon, which we live 10 minutes from, and it was beautiful. Since then I have wanting to get into top shape for my wedding.
The wedding is June 25th, 2016. Now some may think, "that is so long away to be thinking about," but getting healthy and fit will result in a longer healthier life with the one I love and future little ones. I believe if you look at the long term affects rather than immediate results to get by a certain date will help you stay fit and healthy in the long run. It will help you from relapsing into bad habits of eating unhealthy and not exercising as much.
This does not mean that you can't "cheat" at all. It means to limit and control yourself better. Have a cheat day once a week; now I am not saying go all out and eat 10,000 calories (unless you need it) but I am saying it is okay to give in to a craving sometimes because if you don't you will go crazy.
Also have a small amount of chocolate if you need it during the day; just remember to eat a piece or two not the whole bag of chocolate. My cravings include and not limited to: Saltine crackers (original and the saltier the better), Chocolate salted caramel and mexican food. I mostly crave saltines because I normally crave salt more than sweets. I also think me craving salt is my bodies way of telling me that it is needing it.
Sometimes cravings are evil but most of the time it's your bodies way of telling you it needs something. If you are worried you have already had enough then drink a bottle of water and see how you feel in 10 minutes. Sometimes your cravings or you feeling hungry is actually your way of being thristy but your senses can't tell the difference. Cravings are not a reason to give up being healthy but it does teach ou to manage it. If you feel like you need sugar then grab a really sweet fruit like an apple, banana or pear; your body might just have low blood sugar so you don't need that candy bar but you do need sugar and it is best to reach for natural treats than processed ones! Your body just knows that it's sugar and it felt better after the candy bar so it is going to make you crave that next time you have low blood sugar. Same goes for fat and protein. Try and replace processed cravings with healthy ones and you will noticed a big difference and your body will start craving the healthy snacks because you body will notice the difference. You brain knows what your body needs and it's the way you train your brain that will make a difference.
One last note on that is the more fatty foods you eat, the more fatty foods you will eat. Fat actually releases signals to the brain telling your brain that it wants more. You knwo that favorite food that is OH SO BAD for you, yes it is telling your brain that it wants more (even if you are full).
Anyways, that will be enough for today as I need to get back to my college homework and studies. Atleast my midterm was moved to next week! I will be blogging about stuff as much as I can so stay tuned.
All the info above is from multiple health and anatomy classes I have taken so I am not just reading off the internet. These are real studies that talk about why you have craving!
