With the start of a new Diet Bet.
One of my goals is to measure my food accurately.
I've counted calories in the past,
however it never really seemed to lead to change.
This time though, it will be different
because I have realized what my error was:
Accuracy.
"Cups" "Spoonfuls" "Servings"
These measurements rarely told you the true amount.
As a chemist, you would think
I would have figured this out sooner.
Volume Measurements are rarely as true
compared to Mass Measurements.
Error.
Error tends to be large using a beaker,
which is why you use volumetric flasks for accuracy.
However, it is not realistic to measure food with a volumetric flask.
Rather, why not measure in mass?
Mass measurements can be easy to track,
without the limitations of fitting into traditional food units.
I recently bought a food scale,
and it is already my best friend .
It is simple as pie,
which now I can accurately calculate the calories for.
Because, really,
what kind of measurement is a "slice"?
