It was a simple thing: I ordered a fitbit online a couple weeks ago.
UPS tried to deliver it 3 times. Unfortunately, they tried during the same one hour window each day: between ~1:30 and 2:30pm. I'm never going to be home at that time, but I understand that the driver has a route to follow, so I wrote a note on the 2nd notice requesting that my package be delivered to the UPS store that is less than 2 blocks from my house.
Apparently, due to the way that my item was shipped (signature required), my request isn't permitted. It isn't like I was requesting that it be delivered to another person; I was asking for it to be delivered to a UPS Store! The depot where my item is now located is a 30 minute drive in each direction from my house. One hour and the depot isn't open on the weekend. The UPS Store is a 3 minute walk. Even in winter.
I was so angry that I tweeted about it. Both Shop.ca and UPS replied and in the end, they only blamed each other. Neither gave me a way to avoid this in the future, so they lost a customer.
Normally, I would have bought a bag of chips to get over the anger. I didn't get the chips, but I also haven't gotten over the anger. Trying to avoid stress or emotional eating is something that I still need to work on, but I am happy that I have a fitbit.
