I got my fitbit on Monday, so I've been able to wear it 4 full days. I have to say that I like it so far. I was worried I would find it annoying because I don't really like wearing jewelry very much as I start to feel confined (is that weird? anyone else feel that way?), and it's essentially a plastic bracelet. I've been wearing it 24 hours a day though, and I was surprised that for the most part it doesn't really bother be, even when I'm sleeping.
I didn't try to take extra steps these last few days. I work at a very busy doctor's office, so I am chained to the desk most of the day as it's not easy to get away even for a couple minutes to walk around the office if you don't actually have a purpose. I wanted to get a baseline of how many steps I had been taking. Turns out, it's about 5,000. Not really even close to the goal of 10,000, but it's good to know what I'm starting with. I wish it was warmed out so I could walk outside, but Chicago is pretty darn bitter right now :(
I also don't really like that it dosn't really measure anything but walking/running. I have arthritis in my feet, so I can't do too much high impact stuff like that so my workouts are more weight training or biking. I sort of wish I knew about the fitbit Charge before I got this one, but I did get a good deal on it, and I actually do own a heart rate monitor (just have to find it...) so maybe I'm good with this one.
I'd like to link up with some DietBetters, but not exactly sure how to find you all. If you have fitbits, leave your info in the comments or add me? I don't know what my name is (if I even have one? I'm such a n00b...) but my profile url is //www.fitbit.com/user/3777Q7
