Round one is over! I hit goal 10 days early and then fizzled a bit after that, weighing in only .4 under goal. But hey, a win is a win!

So how did it go?

My biggest challenge going into this dietbet was with my ability to maintain momentum. I kept letting small setbacks cascade into big setbacks and giving up entirely (at least until Monday or the first of next month or...). And even though there were certainly some small setbacks here and there (sick kids, Easter candy, unexpected dinners out, etc., and the reaching goal early jubilation), I think I did a great job of not letting anything throw me off course for too long. I know I need to keep practicing these skills, but I did better this month than in a long time, and I'm confident I can do even better next month.

Food! I am not currently counting calories (but have a lot of calorie counting under my belt to give me a fairly high level of calorie awareness), but I am writing down what I eat and grading my nitrition with a letter grade each day. Essentially, A's and B's are the kind of eating that result in weight loss, C's in maintenance, and D's and F's in gain. Out of 31 days, 24 days were in the A-C range and 7 were D's and F's. That's a 77% success rate. I'll take it!

Fitness, usually my forte, was a bit more of a struggle. Sick kids and a nagging injury made things challenging, but honestly, a lot of it was just lack of motivation. Ideally, I'd like to average a workout a day. I got in 18 workouts over 31 days. That's a success rate of only 58%. Not great.

Goals for next month!!!

(1) I'd like to see myself do even better at the food thing! Striving for 80%!

(2) 7 workouts a week, while ideal, is far from where I am right now. 5 workouts a week would put me at 71%. That's this month's goal! (Ideal distribution = 3 runs, 1 cardio cross train, 1 stretching/strengthening session)

(3) Keep working towards minimizing setbacks and maintaining momentum. That's what a 6 month dietbet is all about, right?

Let's rock round 2!
