Hello, everyone. Today I am starting a blog focused on self-care. I thought a lot about what theme my blog should have and decided to go with this overall theme that encompasses both external and internal self-care. I am a firm believer that what is going on inside of me and outside of me are often interconnected! I believe that if I want to see physical changes ( weight loss/physical fitness), I have to be untuned with my emotional, mental and social fitness.
For me, I have found that I have to first deal with my "thinking" before I can make changes. For example, "What is my motivation for losing weight?" "Do I believe that I deserve to look and feel healthy, sexy and fit?" "Why do I hold myself back?" "Why have I sabotaged my own happiness?" "Do I give myself the same love, respect and encouragement that I give to my loved ones?"
I believe that the overall theme for me is self -care. Self-care means that I will acknowledge and protect the preciousness in myself, as I do to others. It means that I have respect and honor for myself and I demonstrate it by the kind of life I give myself- physically, emotionally, relationally, socially, financially, etc.
I want to show myself that I am on my own side, my own fan, if I am to develop positive, long lasting habits that will lead me to my goals.
