I tried and failed a DietBet before. I start a new one today. This time will be different. I am committed and I will be sticking to it! I am not sure what went wrong last time--- I think I may have seen a higher number on the scale one morning and felt like I'd never bounce back, and I stopped trying.
Here's my new plan:
- I am going to weigh myself only once a week, as I get really discouraged when I see the numbers go up and down every day.
- Aim to drink a gallon of water a day. When I am dehydrated I feel tired and I eat more.
- Make an effort to get more exercise. This will be easy to do because I am starting a new job and I will be walking to the train M-F. Additionally, I would like to try weight training and cardio that actually makes me sweat.
- Don't give up. Even if the scale goes up and it seems like I won't win, I want to still put effort into maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- Eat more protein. As a vegetarian, I feel like I may be lacking this essential nutrient, despite denying it for the last 20 years.
- Stay positive. I have had low confidence and been vocally hating on my body for years. It really doesn't help anything and it's a habit I want to stop.
This time around I am joining a DietBet with fewer players, which I think will help. I want to support and encourage everyone. My previous DietBet had 1000+ players so it was hard to keep up with conversations and form encouraging relationships with anyone.
I hope it goes well! I know hope isn't enough, so I will be putting in my best effort and really go for it!
