Obesity may be responsible for blunting your taste buds, according to a research published in PLOS Biology. The research, which lasted for 8 weeks, involved a nest of mice that were fed regularly with food high in fat (about 58 per cent) or low-fat diet (14 per cent).
At the end of the study, the researchers noted that the obese mice had fewer taste buds than those who weren’t obese. This study further lends proof to an earlier research about how obesity causes people to lose their sense of taste.
While the result of this study calls for action like exercising regularly and eating lean meals people who have been trying to shed a few pounds, it’s also important that you realize unattractive lean meals are.
Foods should have high nutritional value and at the same time yummy, according to Dr. Steven Gundry, founder of Gundry MD. “If you’re a parent, you know how daunting it is getting your kids to eat those unattractive dishes when you have a weight loss diet for the family. However, if you change your diet to something appealing that can still knock the pounds out, then your kids will be willing to join your healthy meal lifestyle,” he said.
