When it comes to my diet and health, I have this habit of going in full force, doing well for, like, a month and then burning out and returning to old habits…
I did have a period of time (about 3 years), where I was consistent with exercise, and mostly consistent with nutrition. I dropped about 65 pounds the first year and kept it off…
Until shit happened. Feel free to check out my blog: Workout Buddy Needed, to read more about that struggle. Plus, I was incredibly bored working out at Curves for 3 years, 4-6 days a week. And then, eating "diet" food (basically all non-organic, microwaveable meals) sent me to the ER with something that has only been described to me as "bad gas" (seriously WTF?).
So, I'm going to keep my goals easy and doable…for the most part.
I recently had surgery (nothing major, just awkward, not gonna go into detail), and it threw me off my new workout regimen that I had been working on for 3 weeks. But, I'm ready to get back to it!
Since I'm already running a blog (that I really need to update), these posts will be pretty short…other than today's of course. I just want to post my goals and rewards, and then I can check in with all y'all as well!
So, this week, my goal is to eat no more than 1600 calories a day. I burn around 1460 doing nothing, but I walk dogs as a job just about everyday, so I'm rarely just sitting around. I've tried eating at lower calories before (between 1200-1400), and I usually feel lethargic anywhere from the first 3 days to the first 3 weeks.
I want my focus to be on my workout, so I need the calories to keep my energy up this first week while my body adjusts. And the workout is basic: Arms day, Core Day, Legs day, repeat, rest day (possibly with yoga), and spinning twice a week (which I've already been doing). I'm starting out with workouts from the "Biggest Loser Fitness Program" book, but instead of doing a quick couple of cycles involving the whole body, I'm isolating the groups of muscles in order to give them rest days in-between.
As I go on, I'll try to get even more active. I LOVE to Zumba, and I'm already planning an ice skating outing with my friend Sam (she's also doing this bet).
SO, that's about it! Good luck to everyone, and let's all get healthy!!!
