I'm writing a blog post because the dietbet thing told me to. But in reality, it's a good way to get thoughts down and in front of me and my friends. So, let's join this journey together.
I've realized that accountability amongst my good friends isn't actually the best motivator for me. Mostly because I know that even if I fail, they'll still be there and love me the same. Which then makes me think, well why the heck am I trying anyways. I'm working to find good internal motivation. My goal is to treat my body like the temple of God's that it truly is, to have a body that enables me to live life to the fullest means possible, and to just plain feel comfortable in my own skin.
So to get there, I'm going to be eating proper for me again, which means mostly Paleo. My goal is always to eat 80/20, meaning I want 80% of my food to be paleo. This allows for simple subsititutions like rice and cheese, but not daily having gluten or simple dairy. I'm going to watch my alcohol intake, which isn't bad, but those calories and sugar can totally sneak up on me. I'm back to running regularly, which means at least 5 days a week instead of my current 2-ish. And I'll be adding in weights and yoga.
Now, I've said all that, I have a plan, and yet getting myself motivated into action is tough! So, I'm looking forward to this external motivator with a monetary benefit as a boost. I'm 30 in July, and I want to reach my goal weight of 150 by then! I'm kicking off my 30's with a new look - new haircut & contacts instead of glasses, I'll be running a 30K race in April, and finally reaching my goal weight (size, shape, fitness level, something).
So let's do this thing! Join me on this journey to optimal health.
