Hi Magnolia, how are you? Probably sick and tired of the weather we are having, and I hear more snow headed our way this weekend. I have been struggling lately with my eating, still exercising, but it is obviously not enough. Anyway, I created a walking challenge for the month of February on a site where it is easy to track our progress, no cost, no competition, just for fun, below is the link if you and Tony want to join;

Any of my fellow walkers out there, a challenge for us in February and an easy way to keep track of it. (60 miles for the month).

Hi Carol, I haven't been checking in on Dietbet so I missed your message. So sick and tired of this weather. Diets been good, I just haven't been exercising so the scale hasn't been moving in my favor. But I'm hanging in there. How have you been? Hope all is well. Keep me posted if you have a March challenge. :)

Hi Magnolia, how are you? Can't wait till Spring. Still walking, rowing, biking and doing some weights. Was able to make my goals for the bets I was in, and then sort of derailed myself with the eating. Both kids back to college and I think getting back into my routine will really help. I hope you are doing well - take good care. :)

Hi Carol. Congrats on making your goals. I didn't, but it's ok. Dieting and exercising during the holidays is rough, but I can honestly say that at least I didn't gain. Hopefully we can get back on track this month. Can't wait for winter to be over. Thanks for checking in on me. Take care!! ????

HI Magnolia, how r u? I am totally disliking this weather so stuck in the basement getting my workout done. I have started doing some lite work with weights for my upper body, I am pretty weak, but I know muscle burns more calories than fat, so I guess every little bit of weight work helps. Have a great weekend.

Hi Carol! Struggling and trying to get this weight off. It seems like just when I'm making progress, boom, I gain a pound or two, and it takes another week or so to lose weight already lost. But I'm hanging in there and not giving up. On the plus side, the husband bought me a fitbit force watch for Xmas. Yesterday was my first day wearing it, and omg...I love it!!! Our weather is also crappy, cold, windy and snowy. Our gym is a 5 min car ride away, so we have no excuse not to go. Good luck with the weights! I just started incorporating the weight machines into my workouts. Have a great weekend and happy holidays to you and yours!

You have the right attitude, sometimes we take a step back before we can move forward. This is not a race, is a way of life. Sometimes when I feel down about my weight I try to remind myself that I am moving in the right direction, it took me some time to gain the weight, the opposite is true also. In addition you lost 15 lbs pretty fast, it gets a little harder to lose the closer we get to our goal. You are going to rock this in your own time. Enjoy the fitbit and a happy holiday to your family also!

HI,
Congrats on doing so well on the 6 month DietBet, I started slow and now need to catch up. Feel like some days I am so energized and can get a long workout in, and some days I just don't have much energy. What is your main form of exercise? I do mostly walking on the treadmill and riding my stationary bike.

Hi Magnolia, glad to see you joined the 6 month DietBet. I am in the original test one, and feel that the 10% over the 6 months is more attainable, specially with the holidays fast approaching. I see you like oatmeal, have your tried the steel cut version? I add some fruit, a cinnamon stick, a few raisins and walnuts, and just love it. I am also trying hard to drink my daily ounces of water and get my walk in. Have a great day!!!!!

Hi! I love steel cut oats, I make them in the slow cooker. Top them with a couple craisins, raisins and slivered almonds. I'm looking forward to the 6 month bet. This past month has really made a difference. I also love the encouragement others give each other to not give up. Good luck to you on your journey. We can do this.
