I’ve been concentrating on steps and gentle movement. Today I did a 20 min glute and leg workout and it was sweaty! So crazy that just a few minutes could do that. Happy Thurs

What was the workout. I need to strengthen my glutes!

  • I like decadent teas, and add things to them like coffee drinkers do.

I’ve replaced creamer with a little bit of frothed milk and drizzled my tsp of honey on the milk and rim. This way I actually get to taste it and don’t over do it because I drink big mugs of tea with the added health benefit of a controlled amount of honey.

    It is delicious.

I love these tea suggestions! Thank you. Chocolate coconut is first on my list to look for this weekend!

  • Made ribs in the crockpot today with a quick baking time in the oven to carmelize the sauce a bit. Best way to make them! Added and salad and some grilled zucchini. So good! Dinner and done tonight. Now if I can just the chocolates at work.

For those who weigh in daily every day … what do you do when you do everything “right” and scale stays exactly the same ?? The old me would throw in the towel and say “F it,” but I don’t want to do that anymore ! That mentality is why I have been yo-yoing back and forth the same 5 lbs for 2 years.

  • If you do it daily you become desensitized to the car crash of emotion that comes when it goes up. Seriously. Plus there are times that it goes down that you don’t even know bc you aren’t looking! Like others mentioned, it’s data. It also helped me learn that it might go up today but then down the next two days. I’ve had six decrease days out of 8 so far this month. One day that I went up, it was 1.8 lbs, which used to deflate me. But surrounded by all the loss, I know it’s all good. For reference, green is loss, pink is gain, yellow is no change (I rarely get those).

Breana G.

It’s so great that you’re aware of that old mindset and are ready to break free from it! Remember, the scale is just one tool, not the full story. When it doesn’t move, focus on the bigger picture, how you feel, your energy levels, how your clothes fit, and non-scale victories like sticking to your habits.

With 2B Mindset, it’s helpful to reflect and ask yourself: Am I drinking enough water? Did I focus on veggies first? Am I tracking honestly? Sometimes small tweaks make a big difference, even when it feels like you’re doing everything right.

Consistency beats perfection every time, and the key is to stay patient. The scale will eventually catch up, but your healthy habits are what truly create lasting change. Keep going you’ve got this!

  • Ya know I kept telling my husband "I'm not going to make this weigh-in" (in a different game) and he kept telling me... "You know you are, I know you are" and he was right I came in at almost a pound under goal. Come to think of it there is NOT one accomplishment in my life that man has EVER doubted me. He has ALWAYS lifted me up from the darkest places and taught me how to do the same. I hate that I wasn't always as uplifting from the beginning of our marriage of almost 25 years but I am so grateful God led him to me to teach me to be more encouraging, more empowering, more uplifting...more 💓 He will always bring people into your life to fill you up and to teach you how to love and to be loved 💓

  • My first week was a mix of good and bad! My kids are home from college so on Jan 3, we went to the mountains. I packed my breakfast and lunches for the 3 days but ate and drank bad at night. The plus is that since I am doing this challenge, I did better than I normally would. I have been excellent outside of that trip and down a couple of pounds! So I call that a huge win for me!!💪💪💪

Celebrate the accomplishments however small and don't beat yourself up for the ways you didn't meet your goals.

I can relate! Good job! :muscle:

  • The first 6 days have gone well-
Diet -tracked all the food, did eat out but made good choices, have been leaving food on my plate which is huge for me (childhood learned behaviors are hard to break)
Meal planning- this is one area I need to improve in as well as upping my protein
Water- getting over 100 oz a day, will be increasing to 120 oz slowly
Exercise- have been walking & getting to the beach for that most days, as I set an intention this year to get to the beach more as it’s a major stress reducer for me.Today I did a slower beach walk, and did a 30 min incline treadmill
I took Sunday as a rest day, because I donated platelets & wasn’t supposed to do anything strenuous, but did get a walk in which prompted me to change my steps goal
    From 10K a day to 70k a week.
I’m so glad I joined this DB- I needed the accountability/motivation.
Y’all are probably going to get tired of seeing my name in comments & posts. Being engaged here daily helps me stay motivated & pushes me to keep going.

  • My first week went great (besides being sick) I’ve lost 71 lbs over the past 2 years I gained about 90 after COVID
It’s been slow but consistent loss. The scale doest move often. Sometimes for over a month. Then BOOM 3-4 lbs will come off. It’s like my body needs to make sure we’re still doing this before it releases any weight 😅
Anyway, this week was one of those “boom” weeks and I finally came off a month plateau
