  • I'm super pumped about my progress! However there is some hesitation as for the last week of this challenge I will be on vacation and I'm worried my progress will take a turn. I'm staying optimistic though! I starting my health journey December 16th at 275lbs, I'm now at 264lbs. I was at 269lbs at the start of the dietbet. I can see and feel a difference, I just wanna make sure I don't let myself down ?? thankfully the vacation is full of activite excursions so hopefully that helps!

Wow! Congratulations. You're killing it! Enjoy your vacation. My best advice is to just listen to your hunger cues and eat when you're hungry. It is easy for food to be all over the place when you're on vaca, but you've got this!

Thank you to everyone! Your messages really warm my heart

This week has been tough for me to stay motivated. I've just been so tired, so I haven't been doing my workouts. Due to some meds, I can't wake up earlier to do my workouts, so I've been trying to get them done after work, but the fatigue and a pulled muscle have been enough to make excuses to not get moving. I think the program I was trying is just too much, so I'm going to try a different exercise program and see if that helps me stick with it. I'm also thinking about seeing if I can change my work schedule, go in later and then get home later. Maybe if I can wake up and get my workout done, I'll actually do it.

You can do it!

I've only worked out once so far this year because of illness (from my children, my husband, myself). I'm behind too but I've really been focused on my eating and I'm doing well so far!

I can’t tell from the screenshot what 16 means as a measurement but I am posting because I am doing carnivore and I did some research after buying the ketone strips, I’m not an expert or a doctor but it’s my understanding that you don’t want to be over 80 mg/dL and after 2 weeks back on Carnivore I’m personally right at 40 mg/dL… from what I have read you may be at risk for DKA… if you’re not diabetic I don’t know how big of an issue this result is but either way I would reach out to your Dr to confirm (if you haven’t already)

Again, not an expert but I did a deep dive when I got stuck at 40 because I wasn’t sure why I wasn’t progressing. From what I found that is a good thing and going to 80 and beyond could indicate diabetes. I’m just concerned for you. I hope I’m totally wrong and you can provide insight so I can learn.

That is awesome!!!

Hi all! Is it mandatory to do the progress weigh ins? Or can I just do the final weigh in in 3 weeks? Thanks and good luck everyone!!

You can do unofficial weigh ins, but the progress weigh ins I believe are for the people who have memberships as they have the opportunity to earn other prizes. Everyone who doesn't have the membership only needs to do the final weigh in.

Referee Audrey R.

Hi Mallory, the only required weigh ins are the initial and final weigh ins. Progress weigh ins are a perk of DietBet membership and are not required. :)

I have to lose 13.4 pounds in 28 days. I was a little nervous about being able to meet that goal. I still am, but I am already down 7.4 pounds! Only 6 to go and I still have three weeks!!!

That is incredible! I’m only down 0.4 pounds so I keep trying to tell myself that at least it’s progress and to stay positive

I love bananas and PB! Baby carrots and PB are also great if you want a crunch

My FAVORITE snack to cure a sweet tooth! Try melted peanut butter, it’s even better!

  • I'm down 3.8lbs since the start of the challenge and although I'm happy with that progress, the excitement is short lived as the January mental health blues kick in.
January-March is when I feel it worst so I'm glad I decided to do this dietbet now as I feel it gives me a glimmer of hope. Who else finds comfort in a healthier lifestyle when managing mental illness? If so what clears your head? For me it's having a set musical playlist that is catered to trigger an emotional response, so I cry and purge as I walk my mile.

Yes, diet and exercise do wonders for my
Mental health. But I also definitely have a hard time with winter depression! I also want to work on improving my
Circadian rhythm and waking up at dawn.

I also find having brighter lighting helps me this time of year. When I get a chance doing fifteen minutes in a tanning booth helps too. Also taking vitamin D. Congratulations you look great !!

  • Well thanks to all the snow last night I got in a 20 minute shoveling and sweeping workout, lol. My porch, the sidewalk to my neighbor’s porch and her porch are both cleared, along with most of the snow off my car.
