1. EAT BEFORE YOU GO - Don't starve yourself all day and then make up for it by eating to much at the party. Eat consistently throughout the day and have a nice healthy meal or snack before you arrive at your party so you are not tempted to over indulge.

2. Wear tight clothes - This may sound funny but you are less likely to overeat when your pants or dress are already feeling a bit tight! Trust me it works.

3. If you are drinking alcoholic beverages. For every drink you drink you must then drink a glass of water before your next drink. This will help to keep you full, slow you down and also keep you hydrated. Alcoholic drinks are dehydrating to the body.

4. 2-3 BITE rule - Take 2-3 bites of that "gotta have" fattening dish or dessert. Satisfy your excitement for that food and then put it down and walk away or only put 2-3 bites worth on your plate. Also think sampler platter not pile it high plate. One plate is enough do not go back for more.

5. Chew Gum - When you chew gum or have a mint your mouth is nice and fresh and you are more apt not to spoil that fresh flavor with food. After you eat your meal, pop in a nice minty piece of gum, mint or a drop of peppermint oil. Trust me it works.
