Finally, after some health stuff in June, I finally have exercise clearance! Up until now, there's been a "no sweat" rule. If you follow my blog, you know I broke that rule for the Spartan. In my defense though, I really didn't expect the kids version to be so intense. I kind of thought it would be like a walk at a petting zoo, with lots of breaks and distractions. Instead, it was like someone promised my niece a candy reward or a consequence of being eaten by a tiger if she didn't run. It wasn't exactly a no-sweat pace.
And I paid the consequence with heat rash. And as an FYI, it's a tad awkward to have heat rash along the bra line when you are surrounded by hundreds of people. Just a little.
Since then, I followed the rules and kept a slow walking pace and leisurely swim habit....even though I reached my personal target weight where I feel comfortable running again. Inside I was screaming "can I run yet? What about now? And now?!"
And here we are. Exercise clearance! Woot woot! On my drive home I kept thinking, "ooh, I want to run. And bike. And really swim. And snowboard (hmm, that may have to wait), and how does roller derby work?" Basically, going in 1000 different directions.
It's like Christmas eve for me. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and get things started. The only thing I don't want to do is toning crap. But since I need to drop quite a bit of weight, I definitely need to do toning so I don't look like a deflated Baymax when I reach my goal.
Tomorrow I'm going to start the C25K and figure out the rest from there. And I'm signing up for this game: http://dbet.me/VDKbTD
There will be at least one other ref in there. It could make for some interesting friendly competition. She may be smaller, fitter, and quicker on the keyboard....but I'm feisty, sarcastic...and not afraid to fight dirty. (ha, I'm totally mostly kidding). Let's kick butt and support each other!
