Well folks. I did it. I survived the Color Dash. My knee was a bit wonky at first, but did ok once I was warmed up. I overcompensated enough that I got a shin splint in my other leg. I did manage to do a few run/walk sets before downgrading to a turtle pace.
But it wasn't timed. So I can tell you that I completed it in 32 minutes or something ridiculous for this overweight and increasingly injured referee. And there's no evidence otherwise. :P
I am pretty zen with the whole experience. I'm not beating myself up for not being good enough. Instead, I feel like a true runner - injuries and all.
Looking ahead, my sister wants to do the "longer" version of the Spartan race in May. Shucks. I'm pretty sure I'm busy from now until forever from now.
(Kidding aside, I will totally do the kid's version with her oldest kidlet)
