I was just saying to my husband today that it feels so much better to really be taking care of myself (instead of doing a mediocre job). So, what's different?
Well, I'm back to tracking my food. Pen on paper, the old fashioned way. But I'm also upping my game. Not only am I in DietBet games, I've got StepBet to keep me accountable.
And I allowed myself to be talked into doing Run the Year . So, along with 3 teammates, our goal is to get in 2017 miles for the year. My personal portion is a lofty goal, so I'm kind of hoping someone picks up my slack.
In addition to this, a fellow referee has introduced me to virtual races. These are particularly handy since I live in the middle of nowhere. Essentially, I signed up for any race I came across and then realized I might as well make a goal. This goal is to complete 17 races in 2017.
I don't have them all planned out yet, but here's my list in progress:
- Run the Year
- Aloha Friday 5 K (run 5K every Friday in January) [clearly I'm insane and did not think this one through]
- She Power
- Hot Chocolate Race (this one is not virtual and will also feature another referee. Prepare yourself to hear about this one a lot. Particularly in May)
- Mad Eye Moody 5k (Hogwarts Running Club)
- Stars Hollow Daisy 5k
- She Shines 5K (complete!)
I will also likely be doing the kid's Spartan with my niece. I would like to do a mud run (that isn't Spartan), but people in my life are wimps. And right now I'm heavily considering an outdoor winter obstacle race near my sister's house. Obstacle # 1 with this plan: she won't tell me her freakin' plans that month so this is in limbo.
So, 17 in 2017. Right now this means a lot of wonderful outdoor winter runs. Add in snowshoeing and snowboarding, and you have one active ref.
