I was in search for good workout songs that give me energy (because of the music or lyrics or both) and have just the right tempo for me to do my crunches, squats, lunges and bridges. Found some nice songs, divided them in three categories:
- Slow enough to do 'big' or 'hard' moves
- Fast enough to do simple moves (mostly four-on-the-floor)
- Cool down songs
Happy Slow Songs
These are some songs I found which have just the right tempo for me to do my squats, crunches, glute bridges, lunges, girly push-ups.
- Brown Eyed Girl (Van Morrison)
- Sexy and I know it (LMFAO)
- Jump! (Van Halen)
- Prayer in C (Robin Schulz)
- Scare Away The Dark (Passenger) - not so much the beat as the lyrics that make this great!
- Levels - Avicii
- One Step At A Time - Jordin Sparks
Totally Energetic Songs
With these on the background I like to do my flutter kicks, punches and sitting twists.
- Blurred Lines (Robin Thicke) - really recommend to listen to this version instead.
- Happy (Pharrell Williams) - but Yankovic made this tacky version.
- Every song by Daft Punk, but especially Harder Better Faster
- Another One Bites The Dust - Queen
- Firework (Katy Perry) - also Roar!
Cool Down Songs
Chill it out with this. (And feel like a king/queen!)
- Royals (Pentatonix Cover)
