**Warning: This is a pet peeve post!

Every week, dietbet posts an update on my facebook page.  And every week, one of my facebook "friends" comments that I don't need to lose any more weight.

How is this O.K.?

I mean, if I commented on one of her "Martha is at Ruby Tuesday" status updates that she doesn't need to be eating there because she needs to lose weight, I don't think that would go over very well.  amiright?

And it's not just her.  7 years ago, I lost 35 lbs, and since then I cannot count the number of times I have been told that I am "too skinny"  or that I "don't need to lose any more".  What the what??  It's not like I am underweight - I'm right around 23% BMI (healthy is 18.5-25)

I know that most people are well-meaning and intend it as a compliment, but how am I supposed to respond to that?

Them: "Girl, you are too skinny!  You don't need to lose any more weight!"

Me: "Thanks".... no, that's not quite right.

or "Oh no, I'm really fatter than I look"... that's just weird, and a lie.

or "Well, thank you for your opinion on my weight, would you like me to offer you my opinion on yours?"... this is what I'd like to say, but I don't have the guts!

so... I just give an awkward laugh and say nothing.

Am I being overly sensitive?  Making a big deal over nothing?

Does anyone out there have a better/nicer comeback?
